New Album from Hawthorne Heights

Hawthorne Heights just set a release date for their new album called bad frequencies. With this announcement they released another single from the album called "Pink Hearts". Before this they released a single for the album called "Push Me Away". Both of these singles were fantastic in my opinion. A lot of people have been praising this album for them going back to their roots in reference to "Silence in Black and White" and "If Only You Were Lonely". I don't think this is true, every album they have released has been unique in my opinion and they have simply been making the music they want. In any case I am extremely happy about this release and I will be getting the album on release and making a follow up review on it then.

Last Days At The Wit Gaming

The last few days of Wit Gaming were just this last week. Between Super smash Brothers, Magic the Gathering, Counter Strike, Overwatch, and countless fighting games I have met so many wonderful people. During the last days, everyone who was part of the community joined together for a last hurrah. The most eventful night was Friday where the Last "ASH at Wit" was held, a Super Smash Brothers Melee and Project M tournament with well over 100 people. Old Friends came and new friends were met. Probably the most hype tournament ever hosted there. Just about every other match was an upset including one of my own. The best match to watch was probably MVZY vs Dirtboy which had the whole crowd yelling and cheering. Afterwards we all gathered for a group photo to remember the last night and all the people we had met along the way.

Catch me next Tuesday Night for more @ 6pm!

WAKANDA FOREVER

If you have yet to check out Black Panther, the Marvel comic turned movie, you are really missing out on an experience of a lifetime....

Prior to the release of the movie, most were not aware of the Black Panther comic strip that first surfaced in 1966.

Black Panther is the story of a young Prince turned King of Wakanda after his father is murdered.

T'Challa is a royal descendent of a warrior race who is also a master of armed combat with the ability to use a variety of weapons but prefers unarmed combat instead. He's not only good looking & strong but also very intellectual who always anticipates his next move in order to go above & beyond in order to achieve his goals & advance the kingdom of Wakanda.

He faces adversity when an estranged relative shows up to challenge T'Challa for the reign of the throne for the Wakandan empire.

Black Panther has an outstanding cast that is highlighted by the strength of women warriors who lead the frontline in battle.

This is one for the history books, check out Black Panther ASAP at your local theater & take the kiddos with you!!

Brian Urlacher "Hall of Famer"

Congratulations to Brian Urlacher for being a first ballot hall of famer! For those of us who grew up watching him play, he needs no introduction. For those who did not get to watch him play he was easily one of the if not the most dominant forces on defense during his tenure with the Chicago Bears. Usually a team's game plan for the other defense as a whole, but they had to game plan specifically for Brian Urlacher. My personal favorite "Urlacher" moment came during a game against Tom Brady and the Patriots. The defense collapsed the pocket but game Brady an opening to run up the middle. Urlacher assumed Brady was just going to slide and went for an easy tackle. Brady actually juked Urlacher! It was my favorite for 2 reasons 1. Even though he is my all time favorite Bear, it's always good to be reminded someone is human. 2. After the game he was asked about that play and if he said anything to Brady afterwards. He said that he assumed Brady was going to slide and he didn't want to hurt Brady with a full tackle. Next thing he knew he was juked by Brady. He complimented Brady on the move but finished it with you will never do that to me again.
I'm sure everyone has an individual favorite Brian Urlacher moment and I would love to see them.

100 Days Away from the Avengers

We are officially 100 Days away from Avengers: Infinity War and I could not be more excited for this movie! It is amazing to think that 10 years ago it all started off with Iron Man! I remember going to the theater excited to finally see my favorite Super Hero on the big screen and Marvel did not disappoint. I left excited convinced that there would be a sequal. Little did I know at the time that there was something much bigger in the works. Shortly after, I heard announcements of Thor & Captain America, even characters and stories I have never heard of before like Guardians of the Galaxy. The past decade has been nothing short of memorable if not historic. The idea of combining the stories from dozens of movies to eventually culminate into a dramatic close has never been done before. How exactly Infinity War will end up going? No clue, All I know is I know exactly where I'll be in 100 days.

The 90th Academy Awards Are Coming Up!

Nominations for the 90th Academy Awards were announced on Tuesday morning. Many are wondering if it'll be even more interesting than last year due to all the heated scandals that are taking place.

Remember last year when it seemed that Warren Beatty was in his own, "La La Land" when he announced that the big name movie had received Best Picture before the actual winner, "Moonlight" was announced? Since then, the Academy has ensured that new procedures have been put in place in order to prevent another "mixup." On top of that historic mistake, Hollywood is already under scrutiny amid widespread sexual allegations toward some who have even been nominated by the Academy to receive the prestigious award.

But...I guess if we can have a President in offices who faces the same sexual misconduct accusations; then I suppose we can have them as Academy Award winners as well.

Never a dull moment in America!!!

The Oscars are set to air on Sunday, March 4th on ABC, Channel 7, hosted by the late night host, Jimmy Kimmel.

why nightmare before Christmas isn't a Halloween movie

There are far to many people that watch "The nightmare before Christmas" on Halloween or think it counts at a Halloween movie and a Christmas movie. They only celebrate Halloween once in the movie it's it's the first like 5 minutes of the movie. The rest of the movie is them preparing/ celebrating christmas. If you watch the first 5 minutes on Halloween that's fine but everything after that is all about Christmas so how can it be a Halloween movie. I know it can feel weird to watch it on Christmas because it can be scary to kids but it only makes sense. Watch it before Halloween or after but there's no point in watching it on Halloween.

Concert at the Mutiny

Last Saturday I went to a concert at the mutiny which might be one of my new favorite venues. Every Saturday they have karaoke night but it's not just for young people, there were people in their 60s and 70s doing songs and they had a blast with it. After the karaoke I got to hear and catch up with some of my favorite bands like the foolishly district and the smoking revolvers. The missing revolvers just released their first EP which I had to pick up. I was so surprised by the quality of the songs. It sounded so clean and some of my favorite songs by them were on it. But back to the bar, everyone was so nice there and all the people that worked there were so friendly. It didn't feel like they worked there it felt like they just wanted to be there and have a good time. Moral of the story check out the mutiny if you get the chance.

Ok so what's really with all the hype about Sweetest Day?? Ladies, are you supposed to do for your honey or is it supposed to be a day that you both take the time to recognize each other in your relationship??

Actually, it's neither....

'Candy Day'(created in 1916), now known as Sweetest Day, was designed to be a day of resilience & persistence by acknowledging those who were less fortunate with tokens of affection.

The goal was to encourage everyone to be generous towards others in even the smallest ways.

It's safe to say that it's not quite that way anymore, it's seems to have become more of an isolated day that has become consumed by only doing for the one that you're in relationship with.

This Sweetest Day & beyond, let's try to go back to the root of being 'sweet'.

Be sweet to someone by having a listening ear & when you ask, "How are you doing?"-take the time to truly listen to their response.

In these trying days of the world, remind someone that a little sweetness still exists.

Nowadays it's doesn't appear to be too hard with 'Keeping Up with the Kardashians'...This October begins their 14th season with their show that has become quite the family jewel. Why is this show on its 14th season??

...Because they ALWAYS seem to be in competition for who can maintain the latest & greatest drama, that's why!!

So the 'Tea' now is that both Khloe AND Kylie are expecting babies by their celebrity boyfriends within the next few months...SMH.

Let's wait & see what Kim & Kanye have up their sleeves, because surely, they can not be defeated...LOL.
